Job Description:Are you a dynamic and inspiring educator with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)? We’re seeking a Head of Physical Education (PE) to lead our department, focusing on Key Stages 3 and 4. In this role, you’ll drive strategic initiatives to enhance standards and student experiences within our PE curriculum.Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape the strategic direction of our PE department, setting a compelling vision for its future.
  • Cultivate a high-performing team dedicated to excellence in PE instruction.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to elevate standards and improve student outcomes.
  • Oversee the delivery of engaging and high-quality PE curriculum.
  • Evaluate teaching practices and integrate innovative approaches into departmental strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes physical activity and well-being.
  • Provide leadership for extracurricular PE activities, competitions, and events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align PE initiatives with broader school goals.
  • Stay updated on developments in PE education and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Demonstrate successful teaching experience at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Possess visionary leadership skills that inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • Strong organizational abilities focused on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, students, and parents.
