The Position

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing organization on a mission to make a difference for patients living with chronic diseases in Ireland.

As Head of Medical Affairs, you will manage a team of 6, and drive medical communication, education, activities, and projects.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

-Leading the Affiliate Medical Affairs function by developing medical strategies and executing through the delivery of specific activities to empower HCPs and improve the lives of people living with chronic disease, ensuring access to the right information for the right patient at the right time and in the correct channel.
-Developing the Medical Affairs team through your therapeutic area expertise, as well as delivering innovative medical projects to meet educational needs of HCPs and patients.
-Communicating and collaboration with external clinical experts (KOLs) across current and future therapeutic areas and throughout our expanding ecosystem.
-Ensuring cross-functional collaboration with internal local, regional and global stakeholders in addition to external stakeholders
-Ensuring high quality in all activities and initiatives
-Carrying budget responsibility for Medical Affairs activities in Ireland.
 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have the following qualifications:

-Possess a Master’s degree in Life Sciences, preferably MD, Pharmacy, or a PhD.
-Extensive background in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical sector, coupled with comprehensive clinical understanding. Proficient in navigating local legislation and adhering to IPHA Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry.
-At least 2 years of people management experience, strategic planning, budgeting, and research, with a demonstrated ability to leverage strong communication skills to drive influence and accomplish objectives.
-Equipped with experience and expertise in pertinent therapeutic domains, preferably cardiovascular, diabetes or obesity.
-Embrace an “all-hands-on-deck” approach to tasks and challenges.

You’ll play a vital role within our CMR team (Clinical, Medical, Safety, Quality, and Regulatory), reporting directly to our CMR Director for Ireland.
