About usUCL’s Finance function has 5 Directorates: Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Finance Business Partnering, Management Accounting, Treasury and Long-term Investments, and Finance Operations. Together they are responsible for the management of UCL’s financial performance and strategy and for providing assurance to our council and University Management Committee on UCL’s financial position.About the roleThis senior leadership role leads the Management Accounting team which is a large team and which provides management accounting services across all academic faculties and professional service divisions at UCL.This job is fundamental in supporting finance to provide an excellent service to the University. You’ll be required to give first class leadership and support to the team and support and advise stakeholders to the highest level. You’ll also have the opportunity to drive significant change to streamline processes and improve the accuracy of data, supporting the wider finance team in providing better analysis, insight and support to the business.A full range of duties can be found on the attached job description.This is a Grade 10 position and as such offers a salary of £87,000 to £95,000. There is the possibility of more for an exceptional candidate. The position also comes with a generous annual leave allowance, an excellent pension, and some attractive benefits.About you,To do this job you’ll need:
- To be a fully qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience in a management accounting or finance role
- Successful experience of service delivery including building trust and credibility amongst senior stakeholders
- A track record of financial leadership and driving continuous improvement across people, processes and technology
- Successful experience of managing a large team, including the ability to effectively delegate whilst maintaining appropriate levels of oversight and review to drive quality
- Experience of managing conflict in teams or between stakeholders to deliver results at pace
