Description

AXA Partners continues its digital transformation with more and more cross-functional and digital assets supporting our customer journey, providing 24/7 services and integrated with our partners. The IT department is crucial in supporting this transformation. Within AXA Partners’ IT department, the Global IT Operations team is responsible for overseeing all infrastructure, cloud, network, telephony, end-user, operational security and quality of service activities for Axa Partners.

In order to strengthen the cross-functional management of local IT teams, 2 existing guilds have been merged into a new IT Regional Operations team. This team will also be responsible for transversal activities for the Global IT Operations department (budget, organisational improvements, portfolio management, etc.).

We are looking for a Head of International IT Operations on a permanent contract.

Your main responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Act as the delegate of the Head of Global IT Operations for specific missions or programmes
  • Lead the IT Regional Operations guild
  • Lead the End User Support and Workplace guild
  • Be the head of IT Operations for Malakoff and Rabat, and the main contact with the CIO France for the scope of Global IT Operations
  • All financial and budgetary processes for global IT operations, including governance to monitor volume developments. You will be the main point of contact with AXA GO on the budget (representing around half of the department’s budget, around €15M)
  • Lead all cross-functional improvements to the target operating model and processes
  • Lead operational governance with AXA GO (Services and Projects Monitoring Committee)
  • Manage the global IT operations project portfolio
  • Lead some key cross-functional programmes
  • Support M&A activities

You will manage:

  • Approximately 15 internal and 15 external
  • IT operations managers in the countries (dotted line)
  • AXA GO for the scope of services provided to end-users and work environment
  • The programme teams under your direction (depending on the programme)
  • A budget of over €10m per year
  • And will have authority over the whole Global IT Operations department and over the regions for specific missions.

This is an international position, at the heart of AXA Partners’ IT strategy, for which we are looking for a Senior Manager, capable of taking on more responsibilities in the short term.

Your main tasks will be as follows: 

  • On-premise and Worplace teams – ensuring that the objectives of the 2 guilds are met, in particular :

Defining strategy and standards, taking into account Group strategy

Co-managing the IT operations managers in the regions with the regional CIO

Services provided in accordance with SLAs and with enhanced security – direct services and services managed via AXA GO

Definition and adjustment of target operating model, management of local IT teams

Multi-year roadmaps and improvement plans are defined and monitored (including infrastructure obsolescence for the whole AXA Partners scope)

Budgetary and financial control, in particular budget and volumes with AXA GO

Provide cross-functional support to Americas global IT operations teams

  • Ensure that programmes are implemented successfully, within budget and on schedule. These programmes generally cover all AXA Partners countries.
  • Ensure that budget activities are properly carried out (forecasts, achievements, etc.) and that budget targets are met, with a strong focus on efficiency and savings. Budgets are underpinned by strong volume governance and reporting. He/she will be the main point of contact for the AXA Partners finance team and AXA GO on the budget for the entire scope of global IT operations
  • Lead specific cross-functional assignments within Global IT Operations with a high degree of autonomy
  • Coordinate and support all cross-functional changes to the target operating model (analyses, rationalisation, business cases)
  • Identify cross-functional processes to be improved and organise their implementation
  • Lead the Service Board review and the Project board review with AXA GO, ensuring that AXA Partners’ requirements are taken into account and that escalations are dealt with or escalated
  • Lead the evolution of the IT scope for the Global IT Operations teams (new legal entities, merger, sale, etc.)

You will interact with a wide range of IT Senior managers, in particular regional CIOs, CISO, BL and BU CIOs, regional IT managers, AXA GO management.

Qualifications

Required profile:

Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience

  • Engineer Degree or equivalent
  • +10 years of experience as IT Manager in both Projects and Run activities
  • Management of International teams and Outsourcers

Technical / Functional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Strong knowledge in Cloud and Infrastructure Services management in both recurring activities (IT production) and design & projects
  • Management of several international teams both directly and functionally
  • Capacity to mobilize and energize teams, including in crisis situations
  • Ability to manage teams and topics transversally, in a matrix organization
  • Management of outsourced services, negotiations experiences
  • Strong background in managing major transformation programs
  • Very good interpersonal management skills
  • Budget and financial management and optimization
  • Capacity to anticipate and prepare escalations for Executives
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly identify, analyze, evaluate and resolve problems at the local/regional/international level
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Capacity to challenge existing situation to implement new processes and methods
  • Fluent in English
