Job DescriptionHead of Engineering – Luxury 5-Star HotelWe are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to oversee the strategic decisions, daily operations, and implementations related to buildings, facilities, and assets for a prestigious 5-star luxury hotel.The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the hotel’s high standards while ensuring efficient and sustainable operations.Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement short and long-term engineering and maintenance strategies aligned with the hotel’s objectives and standards.
- Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring smooth operations across all facilities and installations.
- Asset Management: Manage the lifecycle of assets, including machinery, equipment, and building systems, to optimize performance, longevity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols, conducting regular audits and inspections.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the engineering department budget, optimizing resource allocation and cost control measures.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and installations, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reports to ownership and management on engineering performance, project status, and budget adherence.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainability improvements, implementing initiatives to minimize environmental impact.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and best practices in engineering and facility management, seeking opportunities for optimization, automation, and technological advancements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel setting.
- Strong technical expertise in engineering principles, building systems, and facility management.
- Proficiency in asset management practices, including maintenance scheduling, inventory control, and procurement.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management, financial analysis, and cost optimization.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
