Swan is both a technology company and a financial services company, and our Compliance team makes these pieces fit together!As an Electronic Money Institution, Swan faces many regulatory challenges when conducting its business and operations : Fighting money laundering, protecting clients’ funds, working with legitimate partners, etc.Swan is looking for a Head of Compliance to lead our compliance team in Europe.✨ You responsibilities:Build and scale
- Draft and update the compliance procedure framework.
- Revise risk mappings and the classification of Compliance risks.
- Formalize and conduct second-level controls, documenting and tracking recommendations resulting from these controls.
- Document compliance opinions for the launch of new services/products or new activities.
- Stay informed about regulations applicable to financial companies, including credit operations, AML/CFT, and data protection.
- Handle reporting to the ACPR (French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority) and other supervisors.
Build a world-class Compliance organization
- Manage and lead your Compliance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members.
- Conduct training and awareness sessions for staff on Compliance topics.
- Drive people management initiatives, including hiring, performance reviews, ladder improvement, and employee retention.
- Develop and implement strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
✨ Your TeamAt Swan, you’ll have the opportunity to join our dynamic compliance team, reporting to our Chief Risk Officer. Our team, currently consisting of six members, is actively expanding.The Compliance team operates within a department alongside the Legal, Risk, and Internal Control teams. In your role, you can anticipate close collaboration with the Sales and Product Teams, fostering an environment where cross-functional engagement is highly valued.Preferred experience✨ You’re a great match if:
- You have significant experience (+10 years) in compliance or audit in a financial institution, ideally in a Fintech or another fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent knowledge of regulations applicable to the banking sector: Monetary and Financial Code, PSD2, DME2, ACPR guidelines, AML/CFT directives, GDPR, etc. Knowledge of another European regulation is a plus.
- Significant professional experience leading and managing high-performing teams.
- You possess the mindset of a “problem solver,” maintaining a positive and can-do attitude towards challenges and obstacles.
- High autonomy and ability to take initiatives.
- Synthesis and analytical mindset with strong writing skills.
