As a leader you are responsible for defining, implementing, and governing AI processes within a large, highly regulated enterprise. Your role will focus on ensuring the effective, ethical, and legal use of AI technologies while aligning with organizational and regulatory standards. You will serve as a leader in shaping AI and compliance frameworks, and fostering collaboration between business, legal, and technical teams.We expect you to have a deep understanding of AI systems, data management, and regulatory requirements, with a proven ability to lead governance efforts in a large-scale enterprise setting. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the development and implementation of AI governance policies and procedures in a dynamic and innovative organization.Your responsibilities are to:Lead a team of skilled AI researchers and ethicists, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellenceProvide guidance, coaching, and motivation to your team, taking pride in their success as they implement the business strategy you help shapeEstablish technical guidelines and frameworks for the development, deployment, and operation of AI systems to assess and manage AI risks and benefits, addressing issues related to bias mitigation, fairness, transparency, accountability, security, as well as legal and compliance mattersRefine and enhance Novo Nordisk’s existing AI governance policies and procedures to ensure the responsible use of AI and develop new policies to align with evolving best practices and regulationsCollaborate closely with data science, engineering, research, and product teams to identify and address ethical concerns related to data collection, modeling, and deployment of AILead cross-functional AI governance and process groups to ensure alignment and effective implementation of AI governance policies and proceduresCollaborate with the Business, Ethics, and Compliance team and monitor the ethical use of AIWe also want you to collaborate with legal, privacy, information security, and compliance teams to ensure AI initiatives comply with relevant laws and regulations, you continuesly work with Novo Nordisk’s Public Policy team to engage with external stakeholders and industry associations, and you serve as a subject matter expert on AI governance, supporting both internal and external stakeholders.Candidate profileWe prefer you have a BSc, MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, Business or other relevant fields, including several years of work experience.Proven track record of managing AI processes in a large, highly regulated enterpriseSeveral years of leadership experience with a background in AI is essentialExtensive knowledge of AI/ML, data management systems, regulatory frameworks, and ethical AI practicesDeep technical understanding of AI systems, model lifecycle management, and associated risksStrong knowledge of governance principles, privacy laws, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, FCRA)Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and provide pragmatic solutions to governance challengesExpertise in risk management frameworks, audit processes, and AI/ML validation techniquesUnderstanding of pharmaceutical value chain and how to collaborate across the enterprise to bring change and accelerate impact is a plusYou are ready to work with cross-functional teams, including data science, engineering, legal, and compliance, and able to navigate a complex and senior stakeholder network, including business senior leaders, through effective communication and expectation settingDepartment overviewWe are a growing organization of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and developers partnering to deliver impactful end-to-end data products, analytics, and AI/GenAI use cases.
