You will drive cross-functional partnership and alignment with commercial and market access colleagues. You are accountable for the development and delivery of the medical strategic and operational plan. This includes leading and driving the team to deliver the agreed medical activities on time, monitoring progress and course correcting if needed and problem solving for any unexpected issues by laying out proposal (s) for discussion/ decision. You will drive external engagement with relevant stakeholders. You ensure that the right medical clinical partnership is in place and are accountable for the NL input to the above country evidence generation plans. As a Head Medical Affairs, you will keep internal stakeholders informed about key insights and developments in the therapy area.Join our challenge to get ahead of disease together!Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To drive execution of medical operational plan and external engagements with HCP/EE, Patient groups, medical /guidelines societies.
  • To provide functional leadership to the Respiratory medical team.
  • Collaborate with commercial to align to LOC priorities.
  • Lead the evidence generation plan and support ISSs and proposals received in the designated therapy area.
  • To lead local reflection and medical plan on pipeline assets.
  • To work with market access teams towards positive evaluation and reimbursement of GSK Respiratory portfolio through pro-active external stakeholder engagement and reimbursement submissions.
  • Provide high level scientific presentations and clear communication to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide insights to the above country teams with respect to current GSK products under accountability and to the clinical operations teams during feasibility and study conduct, as requested.
  • Providing support for the personal and professional development of team members as appropriate.
  • Creating an environment and culture conducive to ethical and successful implementation of all agreed business objectives.
  • To be accountable for Scientific Engagement budget for Respiratory.
  • Assure compliance and adherence to the highest ethical standards, regulations, and legislations.

Why you?Basic Qualifications:We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • PhD with 5+ years’ experience in a clinical or scientific speciality (list of publications, PubMed) in immunology, or respiratory therapy areas.
  • Substantial experience in people management and the ability to lead change & drive performance.
  • Significant experience in a role successfully engaging in scientific exchange with external experts.
  • Excellent presentation and teaching skills to represent GSK in a professional manner at medical, scientific, and public events.
  • Experience evaluating and effectively communicating evidence-based medicine.
  • Innovative mindset with a can-do and hands-on mentality.
  • Ability to build relationships.
  • Fluency in the Dutch language is compulsory.

Preferred Qualifications:If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • MD/ PharmD qualification with solid grounding in clinical, medical, and pharmaceutical science with the ability to rapidly assimilate specific and detailed knowledge in these areas.
  • Existing network/ knowledge of local EEs in the respiratory network.
  • Ability to adjust behaviours and priorities based on changing environment and manage stakeholders.
