Role: Lecturer – Hairdressing and BarberingLocation: Brooks Hair and Beauty, BedfordSalary/Benefits: Salary from £31,000 DOE and Qualifications, 45 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, Teachers pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.Working Pattern: 37hrs per week (1.0 FTE)Contract Type: Permanent – Full TimeAbout the role:We are currently seeking a Hairdressing and Barbering Lecturer to join The Bedford College Group at Brooks Hair and Beauty, Bedford.As a Hairdressing and Barbering Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Preparing, delivering and assessing on a range of hairdressing courses and levels.
- Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
- Managing students’ learning and providing a high quality learning experience.
- Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Centre in innovative teaching.
About you:Ideal candidates will have:
- Level 3 relevant qualification
- GSCE Maths and English (grades A – C) or equivalent
- Assessor Award/Verifiers Award or Willingness to achieve Assessor/Verifier qualifications
- Successful experience of providing training, assessing and/or education to young people and/or adults
- Experience of delivering learning to groups
- Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Up to date knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area
- Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
- Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns
