The roleThe Marketing Operations Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality marketing support services from DLA Piper GSC to the various marketing and business stakeholders. This will be a very busy role and will involve delivering services in a number of marketing support areas including communications, brand and design, events, pitching and other business development activities.
As an Operations Team Leader, the role holder will be required to scope and allocate work, manage workflow in order to achieve deadlines, monitor quality of output, mentor and coach a large team of junior and mid-level marketing personnel and deputize for the Marketing Operations Manager as required.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Marketing Operations Team Leader, you will:

  • Be responsible for line management (including performance management) of the GSC personnel aligned to their team This will involve recruitment, induction, training, counselling and coaching as needed, confronting any employee issues, managing corrective action process (with HR & Marketing Operations Manager consultation), supporting Marketing Operations Manager on annual salary planning process for the team
  • Support Marketing Operations Manager in planning and managing transition and onboarding: project management of processes and tasks transitioned to GSC: making sure all procedures and steps are followed, information gathered and documented properly, stabilise processes already established, make revisions when necessary and work on continuous improvements
  • Work on customers satisfaction: monitor quality of service delivered, gathering and analyzing feedbacks

  • Take the lead on day-to-day operation and management of the team workload, ensuring all tasks are delivered within deadline and in accordance with the SLA
  • Provide hands-on support in the delivery of day-to-day tasks related to the areas in scope of the GSC Marketing team, be a go-to person for escalation of any task-related issues
  • Collect, interpret and present Management Information relating to key performance metrics of the GSC Marketing stream
  • Create and maintain process documentation and reports as required
  • Share and apply best practices in all areas of delivery by the GSC Marketing team
  • Ensure that all relevant company standards and guidelines are met

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience of working in an International business environment, managing a multi-disciplined marketing team is essential
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience preferably in a marketing environment (professional services preferred) and at least a year of experience managing a team
  • University degree preferably in a business/economic/law related subject
  • Leadership skills, being able to inspire team to follow your example
  • Excellent English skills required
  • Good command of an additional language (German, Italian, French, Spanish, Norwegian, Russian, Arabic, Chinese) will be a strong asset
  • Proficiency in using office applications such as Word, PowerPoint as well as graphic applications, familiarity of MS Project, Excel and CRM solutions
  • Demonstrate a strong commercial awareness in both approach and delivery
  • Have the ability to manage and execute projects across functions and geographies and work within a global team structure
  • Timeliness, accuracy and precision in task delivery
  • Experience in dealing with a demanding workload and conflicting priorities
  • Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines, be methodical and logical, as well as thrive in a robust and fast-paced environment
  • Have the ability to see delegated tasks through to completion at a high standard
  • Have the ability to stay calm and composed in often demanding situations
  • Focused on providing excellent customer service: a professional approach, score highly in terms of commitment and internal client care; experience of working in a Global Service Centre environment will be a strong asset
  • A proven ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with fee earners (lawyers) and internal support functions
