The team is part of the Grid Connection department which has colleagues working all over the world, with the main presence in Denmark, Germany, Spain and India. The department consists of six teams and have full ownership of all grid connection aspects for newly developed onshore and offshore wind turbines. The departments main responsibilities include development and validation of simulation models as well as testing and certification of grid compliance aspects. We are offering a flexible and diverse work environment, where you will have the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.How to contribute to our visionThe Grid Compliance & Testing Team is responsible for assessing, planning, testing of all Grid Compliance related aspects throughout the full cycle of our new product development process. Testing is both executed on prototype turbines as well as on test rigs where sub-systems and components are assessed. The teams’ work includes testing at these high-performance facilities but further extends to supporting development and integration of future grid technologies & features as well as the development of test rigs. The team is situated in a unique position holding key interdepartmental knowledge on our platforms and technology. This enables us to be a key figure in creating feedback loops that serve internal as well as external stakeholders.The team is involved in the assessments and interpretation of relevant grid codes and grid connection standards as well as internal and external technology development projects.The teams’ task profile provides a unique opportunity to deep dive into grid technology, expand project & stakeholder management skills and explore adjacent areas of our product portfolio.Quality and deliver as promised are key performance elements in the daily work to ensure best in class grid compliance capabilities of the wind turbines for our customers.As a Grid Connection Engineer, you will be involved in various activities depending on your qualifications & seniority.The activities could include:Being responsible for planning, specification, and execution of measurements campaigns on wind turbines, sub-systems and components and activities derived from this.Analyzing, evaluating, and reporting of test results.Coordination, evaluation and assessment of relevant grid code requirements and grid connection standards.Defining test plans for new wind turbines, sub-system and component measurement campaigns based on grid code knowledge.Development and sharing of key knowledge on grid connection to strengthen projects support on grid codes, wind turbine capabilities & features as well as parameters.Programming and integration of features in high-performance test rigs as well as developing of our own software to handle & analyze data.

There will be at least 30 travel days a year to various test sites and SGRE offices.What you need to make a differencePassion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…A candidate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar combined with at least 5 years’ experience in the area of grid compliance of wind turbines and wind power plants, automation or electrical equipment with preferably another OEM, Utility, Measurement Institute or Grid Operator.Knowledge in the following areas: power systems, wind turbines / wind power plants, grid connection requirements or test facilities and automation.Experience with standards related to wind turbine testing, e.g. IEC61400-21-1You do have hands on experience with measurement equipment and software and can build on theoretical as well as practical experience. (e.g. Dewesoft, imc Famos, MATLAB)It would be a benefit if you have experience with different network technologies and fieldbuses, real-time applications, programming (PLC, C,C++), and Beckhoff’s PC-based control technology including TwinCAT 3 software.Class B driver’s license.As a person, you are outgoing, result oriented, structured and a dedicated team player, who is able to work in an international and multi-cultural environment and can handle interfaces with numerous internal and external stakeholders.
