Graduate Teaching Assistant – DentonTeaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Denton. This is a full-time position starting in October and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role depending on performance. The position offers a competitive weekly pay of £419.25 to £500.Role Overview:As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support across various subject areas, working closely with teachers and students to enhance the learning environment. This role is ideal for recent graduates who are considering a career in education and are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.Key Responsibilities:Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering lessons by providing targeted support to students, helping them understand and engage with the material. You will work with small groups or individual students who may need extra help with their studies.Intervention Sessions: Lead or support intervention sessions for students who require additional academic support, particularly in core subjects like English, Maths, and Science. These sessions are designed to boost students’ confidence and academic performance.Resource Preparation: Help with the preparation of classroom materials and resources, ensuring that teachers have everything they need to deliver effective lessons. You may also be involved in creating displays that celebrate students’ work and enhance the learning environment.Behaviour Management: Support the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom atmosphere by helping manage student behaviour. You will use strategies to encourage good behaviour and assist with any challenges that arise.One-on-One Support: Provide individualized support to students with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. This may involve working with students with special educational needs or those who need extra help to keep up with their peers.Progress Monitoring: Assist in tracking and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to discussions about how best to support each student. You will help identify areas where students may need additional help and work with the teacher to address these.Extracurricular Activities: Engage with students beyond the classroom by helping to organize and support extracurricular activities, such as clubs, sports, or school events.
