Job Title: Graduate Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for an individual to
perform assessments for service delivery for internal / external customers where the parameters are defined. The person with specific technical requirements to include design review of Mechanical design documents against LR Rules and other applicable Codes and Standards and references.

The role 

Key responsibilities:

-To carry out technical inspections / assessments against defined specifications / scope that includes budget constraints and contractual requirements.
-To produce a report / certificate / document to an agreed format and within an agreed timescale.
-Data collection, analysis, and presentation.
-Create and maintain technical file systems. Maintain computer databases. Provide administrative assistance as required.
-To communicate customer feedback.
-Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
-To make suggestions to improve service delivery effectiveness through changes to processes or work scope such that it leads to a reduction in appraisal effort (where applicable).
 

Key Health & Safety Responsibilities:

-Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.
-Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.
 

What you bring 

style=”list-style-type:square;margin-bottom:11.0px”-
-A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register in Mechanical Engineering or within other relevant fields of engineering or physical science (minimum of three years programme).
-Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.
-Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering basics, with understanding of design of the oil and gas and topside mechanical (rotating & pressure containing equipment and piping) and associated aspects, and multidisciplinary understanding mainly regarding Electrical and Instrumentation, Fire and Safety, Materials, and Process Engineering aspects.
-Familiarity and understanding of the relevant industry Codes and Standards, references, as well as procedures and practices of Classification, Certification, Verification, and Validation as applicable to respective design appraisal services with regards to the ocean economy industries’ areas of operation.
-To take trainings related to the competencies required for further development as per the defined training plan(s) by LR.
