The Courtauld works to advance how we see and understand the visual arts, as an internationally-renowned centre for the teaching, research of art history and a major public gallery. Founded in 1932, the organisation has been at the forefront of the study of art ever since.The Courtauld cares for one of the greatest art collections in the UK, displayed at The Courtauld Gallery in Somerset House, central London. Academically, The Courtauld is a specialist university and home to the largest community of art historians and conservators in the UK. It offers a range of degree programmes in the History of Art, curating and the conservation of easel and wall paintings.Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Governance, you will oversee the smooth-running of The Courtauld’s governance structure and regulatory frameworks through the provision of professional support and advice to the Governing Board and its committees. In this complex administrative, advisory and information management role, the Governance Support Manager will ensure Board business is managed in accordance with both internal and external requirements. You must have experience of carrying out the role and responsibilities of governance within higher education, the galleries and museums sector or the wider not-for-profit sector. Some experience of information management would be beneficial.With outstanding interpersonal skills, you will build successful relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will also have exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to prepare high quality reports and minutes, paying meticulous attention to detail.
