Job purposeThe Goods Receiver at the exclusive member club is responsible for receiving, inspecting, documenting, and storing all goods and deliveries received by the club. This role ensures that all items meet quality standards, quantities are accurate, and deliveries are handled efficiently to support the smooth operation of the club’s food and beverage services.Main Activities and Responsibilities:Receiving and Inspection:

  • Receive deliveries of food, beverages, supplies, and other goods according to club procedures.
  • Inspect deliveries for quality, quantity, and specifications as per purchase orders.
  • Document any discrepancies or damages and report them promptly to the Food & Beverage Manager and Purchasing Department.

Storage and Inventory Management:

  • Ensure proper storage of goods in designated areas, following FIFO (First In, First Out) and proper handling procedures.
  • Maintain organized and clean storage areas to facilitate efficient stock rotation and inventory management.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in conducting regular stock counts and audits as directed.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, delivery personnel, and internal departments regarding deliveries, discrepancies, and storage requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing Department to resolve any issues related to orders, deliveries, or invoicing.
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager and kitchen staff to ensure timely availability of ingredients and supplies for menu preparation.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming deliveries, including quantities received, quality assessments, and any issues encountered.
  • Prepare receiving reports, delivery notes, and other documentation as required.
  • Assist in reconciling delivery documents with purchase orders and invoices.

Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Follow health and safety guidelines and food safety standards in handling and storing perishable and non-perishable goods.
  • Adhere to club policies and procedures related to receiving, storage, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and participate in audits as necessary.

Manage other activities relating to or resulting from what is indicated in the previous points.Key Competencies:Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in hospitality management or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience (at least 2 years) in a similar role in the hospitality industry, preferably in a high-end or exclusive club environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.

General Knowledge and Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of receiving procedures, quality control standards, and inventory management practices.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in handling food and beverage items.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment and computer systems for data entry and communication purposes.

Personal and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inspecting and documenting deliveries.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards.
  • Good communication skills to interact professionally with suppliers, delivery personnel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects as necessary during the receiving process.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as per club operational needs.
