Global Roving MHPSS Advisor in Danish Red Cross International DepartmentDanish Red Cross (DRC) is looking for an experienced humanitarian to join our mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) team and work to ensure that people affected by disasters and crises live healthy lives and have capacities to promote, achieve and sustain mental health and psychosocial well-being.About the positionThe Global MHPSS Advisor will support the DRC’s strategic ambitions to respond to mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) needs in emergencies through surge and rapid deployments. The Global MHPSS Advisor is expected to deploy up to 50% per year to humanitarian contexts – armed conflicts, climate related disasters, and other emergencies. Deployments can be both bilateral and multilateral (IFRC/ICRC). Mission length vary according to the needs (up to three months). In addition, the Global MHPSS Advisor will provide technical support and quality assurance to DRC supported MHPSS emergency interventions.Your main tasks include:
The Global Roving MHPSS Advisor is a member of the MHPSS team in the Technical Quality & Impact Unit in the International Department. The team comprises technical advisors supporting the strategic ambitions of DRC and ensures that the requisite capacities are in place to provide timely and relevant assistance to DRC supported operations.The Global Roving MHPSS Advisor works under the line management of the Head of Unit with a technical line to the MHPSS Team Lead. The Global Roving MHPSS Advisor works closely with relevant colleagues at DRC HQ, regional, and country offices as well as with the International Federation of the Red Cross Red Crescent (IFRC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and National Society (HNSs) staff and volunteers in countries of operation/mission. When on mission, the Global Roving MHPSS Advisor will report to the DRC Country Managers and/or Head of Operation on security and other issues, and closely coordinate with relevant actors under the guidance of the country team.Your profile:Professional:

The position is located at the Danish Red Cross headquarters in Copenhagen with extensive travels and missions (up to 50% a year).The position is a full-time position of 37 hours per week. Salary is between DKK 41,300 – 47,600 per month including pension, and according to qualifications and experience. It is an HQ position, and the salary package does not include family or housing allowances.
