We create imaginative products and brands that are enjoyed in over 150 countries, such as Mentos, Fruittella and Chupa Chups.We are looking for a Global Commercial Data Lake Lead to support the implementation of our Commercial Data Lake (CDL). The Global Commercial Data Lake (CDL) Lead collaborates with the Global Commercial Insights Director and the data lake program team (including IT). Leading a team of the CDL Product Owner and a team of commercial analysts and power BI developers. The main responsibilities are, with regards to the Commercial Data Lake Development, Implementation, Adoption, and Maintenance:

  • Lead the management of large multi-country projects within the business intelligence area, with a focus on the development and rollout of the global commercial data lake initiative.
  • Develop a team to create a BI&A global hub including product owner, analysts and power BI developers, serving the commercial function (marketing, trade marketing, route-to-market, revenue growth management (RGM) and media)
  • Lead the project for the ingestion and integration of financial (SAP) and commercial data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, sales force data, distributor management systems) into the global commercial data lake.
  • Develop governance standards, procedures, metadata and processes throughout the data ingestion steps, to develop the maturity and professionalism of the data lake, in collaboration with IT.
  • Drive foundational data ingestion and the development of commercial dashboarding, reporting, and advanced analytical models embedded in the business.
  • Focus on business performance management, revenue growth management, route-to-market with a future scope to develop and embed analytical tools, dashboards, analytical models, strategic frameworks, and training programs across commercial functions; such as media, marketing, etc..
  • Lead and contribute to the PVM data and analytics council, driving forward data collaboration across functions
  • Collaborate with global BI&A, CDL project team, commercial functional director (e.g. RGM director), and other commercial functional teams.
  • To succeed in this large-scale project, key competencies include networking, maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, understanding different business functions, adapting to audience needs and preferences, and flexing to different cultural styles across the global organization.
  • Lead the organisational change management activities (including training communications etc) ensuring that the users are able to adopt the insights developed to unlock new business value.

You will work in collaboration with the cross-functional teams within the global and regional organization but also actively engage with the local teams in the local operating companies.WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FORWhile the ideal candidate does not exist, we do have a few things we would like you to bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree required,
  • 10+ years of working experience, of which at least 4 in the (F)MCG industry
  • Experience within CPG, including with commercial data sources such as Nielsen, IRI, and financial data.
  • Experience in Insights BI&A roles is a must, consultancy a plus
  • Experience in working on data lake projects, preference for experience with Azure platforms and agile working
  • Experience with tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, etc. a benefit.
  • Should be able to work independently with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively build a relevant network in the organization across all levels of the organization
  • Confident in all aspects of supplier management and experienced in working in complex programmes with mutiple organsations contributing
  • Has the ability to simplify complex topics so that all audiences can understand.
  • Experience in a regional or global environment working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem solving experience.
