Job title:

GL Accountant

Action

Job description

This is your daily actionAction’s exponential growth means that tasks could easily get blurred. Trying to cope with an ever growing workload, GL and business controllers at our entities across Europe increasingly take on non-role-specific tasks. To free up their time and enable them to review and challenge reporting and recommendations, you will transfer and centralise key GL accounting tasks. These include transfer pricing, stock provisions, margin adjustments, preparing financial information, currency revaluation, intercompany loans and interests, etc.In the transitional phase, you will develop a profound understanding of the tasks to be transferred, for which you will collaborate closely with our entities’ GL and business controllers. And you will align general ledger accounting practices for group and local ledgers. Creating processes for collating and analysing the financial information from across Europe and reconciling accounts with the general ledger, you will ensure that the information complies with professional and regulatory standards. You’ll also be sparring with your stakeholders, who may challenge decisions and provisions. That’s how you will create a sound financial base for the group as a whole and help stakeholders make informed decisions.Questioning the status quo, you will consolidate and standardise practices while continuously improving our methods. Once processes are in place, accounting tasks will be delegated to the central GL Accounting team, which is your home base. Our currently seven-strong team of accounting & controlling specialists is growing to ensure we can absorb the demands and challenges in our Finance Department, of which we are part. We are very collaborative, sharing ideas and best practices.
