The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (the Trust) is looking for a part-time 0.6 FTE GIS Officer.
Your primary role will be to help develop and implement the use of GIS to its full capacity
across the Trust, including staff training, monitoring, analysis and mapping, publications and
reporting both internally and externally.
You will provide scientific support to the conservation and science teams to ensure that
spatial data is collected, managed and analysed appropriately to monitor bumblebee populations
and distribution and to record and monitor habitat management advice and actions. The role is
crucial in providing evidence of the impact of our actions towards achieving the Trust’s
strategic aims.
You will be experienced in the use of QGIS to analyse a variety of spatial datasets and produce
appropriate graphical representations. You will be able to explain complex data and processes
to a variety of audiences and to train and support non-specialist colleagues to efficiently
provide, access and interpret data using QGIS. You will be a team player with attention to
detail and able to prioritise competing work demands to meet deadlines.

This is a part-time post for 21 hours per week. Some overtime work may be required and a
flexitime system is in place. This post will be employed on a permanent basis at the Trust’s
office in Stirling or home-based or hybrid.
