Job description

Do you want to teach German as an L3 language in our Lower Secondary department, Human science, geography, and history in German in our Lower Secondary department, and German as an L2 language for one year group in our Primary department?We are looking for a native speaker or a speaker with an equivalent language diploma (C2 level) for teaching hours:

  • in German as a second foreign language (called L3) for all year groups in Lower Secondary,
  • in Human Science, Geography and History in German,
  • in German as a first language (called L2) for one year group in our Primary department.

The language groups and the subject groups consist of mixed students from our French, English and Danish language sections (called L1).In the European School system

  • students start their second language (called L3) in Secondary 1,
  • Human science, geography and history are taught in the students’ first foreign language (called L2 and in this case German) in Secondary 3 and 4,
  • students start their first foreign language (L2) already in Primary 1, so language fluency is of a high standard.

Our students here at ESCPH come from multilingual home environments so bring an eclectic mix from an existing wide range of languages.The ideal candidate will have

  • relevant teaching experience for the age group (10-15 years old)
  • experience with the DSD I diploma, which our students take in L2 and L3 in Secondary 4
  • experience in international or intercultural education
  • commitment to a high level of student achievement with a supportive, positive and inclusive attitude
  • working knowledge and understanding of varied differentiation strategies
