Job description

Offer DescriptionLocal Climate Zones (LCZ) are a classification system used to categorize different urban and suburban areas based on their physical and thermal characteristics. This classification is designed to help urban planners, architects, researchers, and policymakers define strategies for mitigating the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect and monitor their impact on urban microclimates. LCZ maps can be generated through the appropriate processing of multi/hyperspectral satellite images of our cities, integrated with morphological information about the built environment and vegetation derived from Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The research is part of a bilateral collaboration between Italy and Vietnam, supported on the Italian side by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsAdditional InformationEligibility criteriaRelevance of qualifications with the research programme object of selectionConsistency of the candidate’s overall profile with respect to the content of the research programme for selectionClose relevance of publications submitted with the research programme object of selectionInterview aimed at ascertaining the candidate’s aptitude for the research object of the selectionEligible destination country/ies for fellows:
