My client is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Database Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing medium to large-scale features end-to-end within and across domains. You will improve processes and frameworks, build solution building blocks, and act as the go-to person for one or more technologies. You will evangelize and research new innovative technologies and introduce them to the team.Responsibilities

• Design and deliver medium to large-scale features related to different system components, including analyzing, designing, coding, and testing systems.
• Own the production operation and monitoring of the system, ensuring it meets SLAs.
• Ensure stability, continuity, and performance of systems under your responsibility.
• Design and implement secure systems end-to-end with a focus on automation, test integration, reliability, and a DevOps mindset.
• Create proofs of concept and develop conceptual models of new problem domains.
• Optimize the integration with infrastructure and specify infrastructure needs.
• Challenge and validate code, considering programming standards, security guidelines, and functional/non-functional requirements.
• Ensure correct deployment in different environments.
• Be available for incidents and on-call duties when required.
• Recognize and surface risks and unknowns, keeping aligned with bigger picture goals.
• Validate technical documentation.

Team leadership and collaboration

• Coach associates and engineers, encouraging teamwork and responsibility.
• Steer newcomers and provide clear action plans related to goals.
• Challenge and improve team processes.
• Proactively come up with action plans and adapt approaches if necessary.
• Impact multiple teams and areas, often taking a leading role.
• Communicate with non-technical team members, recognize key risks, and manage dependencies.

Competencies

• You are a senior in the database system Oracle (DBA knowledge or thorough performance-linked knowledge)
• PL/SQL
• Financial markets (Derivatives/REPO/Clearing & Settlement)
