General Manager – Belle Eau Park

Introduction

We are recruiting for a General Manager at our Belle Eau Park facility due to a

recent promotion. In this role you will run our site with autonomy; and you will report into our regional director who has run the site for circa 2 years. This is a large +50,000-pallet position facility with 400+ colleagues.

The role

You will engage and motivate teams and lead managers at site, ensuring that we are maintaining strong performance but also a rewarding culture for our employees.

You will take full accountability at site, providing direction to all departments and shifts to ensure we are providing a great service to a longstanding and high value customer; by meeting all their requirements whilst working safely, productively and in accordance with company working procedures.

We also have plans to extend the capacity at the facility by approximately 30% – so the General Manager will play an important role in delivering the expansion project.

Tasks include:

• Meeting with various managers and team members – ensuring they have direction and support to work effectively.

• Working with colleagues and customers directly to ensure we are delivering a great service.

• Ensure managers have access to and use data to improve site performance.

• Collaborating with onsite CI manager to support continuous improvement agenda.

• Conducing training need analysis, ensuring training is completed and records maintained.

• Be accountable for health and safety at site; making sure all colleagues work in a safe environment.

We are seeking someone who is comfortable in being the single point of accountability at a large site. You will be a people focused operational leader, who understands that success is built by getting the best from our colleagues at site.

To thrive in this role, you’ll ideally need:

• Experience of leading teams through managers (+200)

• Strong commercial awareness to be accountable for the site P&L

• Has managed an operation with fast paced/quick moving goods

• Strong relationship management skills – collaborate and build a strong partnership with our customer

• Can help manage change and transformation – such as implementing new processes or systems

• Is comfortable working with data to support decision making

• Can travel to the site location every working day
