Job Description Summary
Are you a dynamic, customer-focused professional with a passion for operational and maintenance support? Join us to work confidently and independently on the General Electric LM2500 Gas Turbine engine (GT) and supporting Auxiliary equipment (GTAE). This includes systems like Electric Start System (ESS), Fuel Forwarding System (FFS), Intake and Exhaust Systems, Water Wash System (WWS), and Fire Suppression Systems (FFS).
This role is based in EU and you will need to be able to travel easily throughout Europe and Asia as needed.
In this role you will provide technical assistance for the installation, start up, preventative and/or corrective maintenance of the LM2500 / LM2500+G4 marine gas turbine engines (GT) and associated auxiliary support equipment (GTAE) during ship construction and in-service operation leading up to delivery.
Job Description
Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Overseeing and participating in the installation, power-up, functional checks, and operation of GT, and the GTAE for fuel, air, fire suppression, control, water wash, and ventilation systems.

Coordinating and generating responses to customer technical inquiries on GT and GTAE.

Oversight of GT and GTAE commissioning and repair activities.

Coordinating original equipment manufacturer (OEM) field service representative (FSR) requirements in support of GT and GTAE systems commissioning.

Oversight of OEM FSR work activities and completion to include shipyard approval as necessary with supporting documentation.

On-site supervision and inspection of OEM FSRs dispatched in support of GT and GTAE systems.

GTAE-to-GT integration checks as well as GTAE system checks.

Aftermarket service support of GT and GTAE systems.

Participate in meetings with Shipyards and Navy during installation, setting to work (STW), harbor acceptance trials (HAT) and sea acceptance trials (SAT).

Participate in Shipyard and Customer meetings.

Attend GE-sponsored technical hands-on training when available, e.g. borescope, hot section maintenance, cold section maintenance, controls, etc.
Required Qualifications:
-
Realschulabschluss, Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) , Abitur or Fachhochschulreife, with at several years of experience with aero-derivative gas turbines.

Willing to travel up to 50%, including naval vessel periods at sea.

Proficient in Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Valid driving license and passport.

Willing and able to travel internationally.
Desired Characteristics:
-
Bachelor’s degree, Ausbildung, or Techniker from an accredited institution.

Background in naval or merchant navy ship construction/shipyard.
-
Ability to read and understand electrical and control schematics.

Prior naval or merchant navy engineering experience is a plus.

Experience in marine propulsion or power generation maintenance, repair, or inspection, focusing on gas turbine applications.

Additional consideration for candidates with GE OEM Level 2 training or 10 years of marine/merchant navy/industrial gas turbine inspection experience.
