You will be part of an award winning team maintaining multiple sites, including one of the most beautiful gardens in central York. You’ll make sure all our gardens and grounds are beautifully presented and immaculately looked after.

The role

We have an opportunity available to join our team on a full time, permanent basis.  We are looking for a dynamic, conscientious gardener who is a good team player and enjoys working in a team environment. The sites range from gardens surrounded by historic buildings to modern architecture and developing areas for biodiversity. As well as carrying out maintenance in these areas you will also assist with the care, cultivation and day-to-day maintenance of our student accommodation and sports complex. You will be given the opportunity to become a Biodiversity Champion helping us to deliver on our nature friendly initiatives.

Required skills and experience

Candidates are required to have –

• City & Guild/NVQ or equivalent horticultural qualification, or a proven track record in horticulture
• Experience of working as a Gardener on a professional basis and of a practical nature.
• Ability to work as part of a team member or individually using own initiative
