Serving three primary markets – passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment – Dana provides the world’s original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.Position SummaryWe are looking for a talented Mechatronic or Electronic Engineer, as a member of Systems Engineering Team, with passion for e-drives who wants to grow his/her skills in this discipline in strong collaboration with other Engineering technical domains (hardware and software) to provide consistent results on the achieved functional safety of Dana’s mechatronic products.With the trend of more and more electronics and software, new challenges emerge in the development of Industrial Electric Vehicles. Engineering team needs to prevent harm by misbehaving of the functionality, caused by design faults and random hardware failures.
These challenges can be taken on by implementing an additional technical domain, called Functional Safety.Main opportunities and challenges:

Grow as a Functional Safety Engineer permits to learn and build a solid approach to safety-related product development and project management, according to the last safety standards and to the high quality targets of Dana.Main Responsibilities

  • Drive and support the execution of the Functional Safety lifecycle.
  • Apply Functional Safety processes and systems locally to be common across Dana global facilities.
  • Directing engineers and external stakeholders (including FS consultants) engaged in program and project work.
  • Engage directly with customers during the request for quotation stage; on jointly reviewing functional safety objectives and specific requirements; and in the resolution of functional safety concerns.
  • Produce, either directly or indirectly, all the necessary work products, including but not limited to: Safety Plan, Safety Manual, Safety Concept, Safety Requirements specification, FMEA & FTA, Safety Verification and Validation activities.
  • Driving the Functional Safety approach across organizational boundaries and with senior management.
  • Support the definition and management of the functional safety process in accordance with the Industrial Safety Standards (e.g., ISO 19014, ISO 13849).
  • Facilitate process implementation and improvement in accordance to the standard model (CMMI, ASPICE).

Job position RequirementsEducation: University bachelor degree in Mechatronic / Electronic EngineeringProfessional background: Minimum experience of 3 years in electronic design, as a software (embedded firmware) and/or hardware developer.Hard skills:Essential:

  • Basic knowledge of C programming language for embedded firmware development.
  • Knowledge of DSP and micro-controller architectures.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Proficient technical skills Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Technical background in mechatronics products.
  • Experience in debugging/testing with laboratory instruments (oscilloscope, function generator, power analyzer, etc.).

Considered as a plus:

  • Functional Safety experience in electronics applications (Powertrain and EV applications preferred)
  • Knowledge and execution of requirement management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, Integrity, etc.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Safety Standards (e.g.: EN ISO 13849, ISO 19014, EN1175, ISO 25119)
  • Knowledge of Automotive Safety Standards (e.g.: ISO 26262)
  • Experience in safety analysis, such as DFMEA and FTA
