Fast ApplyJob SummaryDetails of PositionJob summaryWe are looking to recruit an experienced ESL teacher with a dynamic and professional attitude, who is striving for a challenge and personal improvement, to join our close-knit team for the academic year Sept 2024 to June 2025. As a member of our team you’ll find support and encouragement in equal measures. We’ll also need to lean on you for advice, so your input in decisions will be vital. Successful candidates will be responsible for managing a variety of levels and class types including Cambridge exam prep, General and Business English and some YL classes. Applicants must have the right to work freely in the EU (EU passport holder, NIE or TIE).Details of PositionFull-time 34 hour weekly contract of which 25 hours are class hours.This is an ideal role for a CELTA-trained (or equivalent) teacher who has already gained experience in the classroom and is seeking a more challenging role and personal development. Classes are primarily for adults at all CEFR levels, with potentially some YL teaching. They range from 1-2-1 to groups of up to 7 students and may be online or F2F. Experience with Cambridge exam prep is vital as this makes up a large part of the student base. Knowledge and enthusiasm for YL teaching would be desirable. Classes are often taught in collaboration so good communication skills are a must.Typical schedules include afternoon classes from around 16:00 as well as some grouped morning classes to fulfil and complete the contracted hours.
Many morning hours are done remotely with online classes. (Laptop provided by academy)
At least two mornings and one afternoon free of classes.A key area of our teaching ethos is the flipped classroom method with an emphasis on student based learning; in-house training and support from our Delta-qualified co-coordinator is offered for this. Teachers who have an interest in professional development will welcome the opportunity to have more freedom and control over syllabus design as classes do not have set course books.Qualifications

  • CELTA or Delta qualified (or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching all CEFR levels
  • Experience teaching adults and YLs
  • Knowledge of Cambridge exams (or similar) essential
  • Spanish a benefit for personal use
  • EU passport/ NIE or TIE holder

Salary and Benefits

  • 1350 (approx NET) starting monthly salary.
