Who You’ll Work With

Cisco Networking Engineering (CNE), formerly known as Distributed Systems Engineering (DSE), is a multi-billion-dollar business that generates revenue primarily from the Web, Service Provider Edge, Core, and Optical markets. The organization handles the development of high-end optical products like NCS1010, NCS1014, NCS1004, NCS4000, and NCS2000 series. What You’ll Do

• Work on developing the software application to manage complex optical system and automation stack

• Deliver high level quality software tools

• Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems

• Collaborate with a globally distributed engineering team to solve problems

• Participate in the SW/HW integration

Minimum Qualifications

• Computer science engineering or equivalent degree at either BSc, MSc or PhD level

• 2+ years in major full stack programming languages: C/C++, Java, Python, Javascript

• Automation experience with Python

• Knowledge in the use of configuration controls tools and software repository mechanisms such as Github, Bitbucket etc

Preferred Qualifications

• Programming experience in Linux environment

• Experience with Angular

• Ability to work in globally distributed team with fast prototyping and development

• Experience within optics/optical networking

• Understanding of computer networks and network protocols (TCP/IP etc)
