Offer DescriptionFSMP Chairs of excellence aim to host one or two top rank mathematicians in one or more laboratories affiliated with the Foundation. All topics in fundamental and applied mathematics, as well as in fundamental computer science, are eligible.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Mathematics Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsMathematicians or computer scientists, of any nationality, at any stage of their career (Associate Professor, Professor, Research Director, etc.) excluding members of laboratories affiliated with the Foundation.Additional InformationBenefitsEach year, one or more laureates are financed for a stay (on a fixed-term contract) of between 6 and 12 months maximum (possibly spread over two academic years).The laureate will receive a remuneration ranging from 4700 € to 6200 € net depending on her/his profile as a researcher.If the laureate works in a French public institution of higher education and research, the terms of her/his stay will be handled in agreement with her/his home institution.The chairholder will benefit from social security and health insurance and, if he/she wishes, from a complementary mutual insurance.The laureate’s round-trip travel may be reimbursed on the basis of economy fare.Eligibility criteriaMathematicians or computer scientists, of any nationality, at any stage of their career (Associate Professor, Professor, Research Director, etc.) excluding members of laboratories affiliated with the Foundation.Selection processThe jury of the program is formed of the Foundation’s and of the qualified personalities of the .The Selection is based on the excellence of each applicant’s scientific background.The selection criteria are:

  • The quality and importance of the scientific work
  • The impact of the researcher’s project on FSMP laboratories, in particular the innovative character of the scientific activity.
