Position overview

allnex is looking for a reliable, organised, and proactive Freight Team Lead to join our procurement team. The Freight Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the accuracy and efficiency of freight invoice control, maintaining freight prices, and managing additional costs in collaboration with the Logistics team. This role also involves guiding the team, participating in the hiring process, and driving process improvement initiatives to optimise procurement transactions. This role is open in Riga and Petaling Jaya.

Responsibilities
-Control and verify freight invoices against price lists.
-Maintain freight prices in systems as provided by Indirect Procurement Transport & Warehousing.
-Review and approve additional costs in collaboration with the Logistics team.
-Request freight quotes for situations involving fixed carriers.
-Maintain freight rates and routes in the system.
-Support, manage, and guide the Procurement team within the retained organization.
-Participate in the hiring process for new team members.
-Collaborate with local sourcing managers to improve the efficiency of procurement transactions.
-Proactively propose and follow up on process improvement initiatives.
-Ensure proper escalation of issues to the Procurement Optimization Director.
-Participate in internal and external audits and prepare periodic procurement reports.
-Arrange training sessions for new hires, end-users, and other departmental teams.

Required skills and experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent
-Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Freight and/or Procurement
-Prior experience and solid understanding in SAP, Microsoft 365 is highly preferred
-Experience working in a Shared Service setting
-Solid understanding of Procurement processes and interactions with other departments
-Fluent in English and the local language
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Able to work independently while being a team player
