Job description

The main mission of the General Manager will be to support the Director of B-TC in translating the strategy into a concrete operational maintenance policy.1. Management and Strategy:

  • Update and implement B-TC’s strategic plan with specific objectives for reducing downtime, improving rolling stock reliability, increasing efficiency and profitability, reducing occupational accidents, and improving rolling stock cleanliness.
  • Design an optimal work organization with efficient and customer-oriented processes.
  • Manage, coordinate, motivate, evaluate, and develop competent teams and employees.
  • Maintain relationships with trade unions and various stakeholders.
  • Represent the management in the absence of the director.

2. Operations and Maintenance:

  • Increase the quality and reliability of rolling stock to improve train punctuality.
  • Increase the efficiency and productivity of workshops.

3. Cross-functional Functions:

  • Lead cross-functional key functions such as the PMO (Project Management Office), asset management and business analysis, quality and environment, central training, workshop investments, and contracts with third parties.

4. Member of Technics’ Management Team:

  • Contribute effectively to reporting and actively participate in strategic decision-making at the management level.
  • Prepare, monitor, and implement decisions, drive and manage change and improvement projects.
  • Actively promote the corporate values defined by PROS (Professionalism, Respect, Dare to Take Initiative, Knowing How to Collaborate).

You are freelance ?|Available full-time from August for an assignment of one year ?Educational Background and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment, ideally in the railway sector.
  • Advanced experience in leading large, operational, and complex organizations.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of operational processes required in terms of maintenance policy, supply chain, safety, quality assurance, etc.
  • A clear vision and management skills necessary to lead a workshop and continuously improve its performance.
  • Highly developed skills in strategy, change management, business economics (finance, risk management, etc.), and natural leadership.
  • Project team management skills.
  • Experience in the field of social dialogue.
  • Good practical knowledge of both national languages (French and Dutch).
