Job description

Our client, a well-known large international company, is currently looking for a Freelance Accounting Manager to support their team in Brussels.

• Ensure tax compliance, including VAT, corporate income taxes, withholding tax, and Intrastat.
• Manage relationships with outsourced payroll providers.
• Perform payroll controls with HR and prepare payroll journals for the General Ledger.
• Collaborate daily with backoffice staff in Chennai and Warsaw, focusing on GL management, cash, and accounts payable.
• Support statutory audits by preparing for fieldwork, liaising with auditors, and reporting progress to the Regional Accounting Manager.
• Prepare financial statements for Benelux entities.
• Act as the primary contact for payroll-related queries.
• Prepare and document monthly SOX controls.
• Handle related administrative activities, including VAT support and ensuring timely scanning of invoices.
• Support the review and follow-up of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prepare certain reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with local reporting regulations.
• Report directly to the Regional Accounting Manager.

Freelance Accounting Manager|International context

• University Degree, Accounting Qualification or equivalent by experience
• Work experience in general finance/accounting in complex multinational environment or in audit firms, ideally with experience in payroll outsourcing and CIT, VAT and Intrastat;
• Work experience in general finance/accounting in complex multinational environment or in audit firms, ideally with experience in payroll outsourcing and CIT, VAT and Intrastat;
• Good communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internaland external stakeholders
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in English plus Dutch or French
