Floating Support Worker- Carmarthen Floating Support Worker Job type Full time, permanent Salary £21,740per annum Hours 35 hours per week (+ 5 hour paid lunch) Location Carmarthen- (Llanarthne Village Hall) A safe, secure and affordable home is what we all want. Nacro are looking to recruit : We are searching for a Project Worker in Carmarthenshire to provide tenure neutral floating support, to people who are homeless, living in accommodation that is unsuitable for their needs, as well as people who are suitably housed, regardless of whether their home is owned or rented, as long as the support that they need is aimed at enabling them to develop the skills and confidence that they need to be able to live their life to its fullest potential, as independently as possible, in their own home. To deliver floating support service to service users in the community. To carry a caseload of up to 18 service users. to prevent homelessness knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits, substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health would be advantageous. You will be based in our office in Carmarthen however a full driving licence and own vehicle is required to be successful in this role. A qualification in health and social care or housing would be advantageous however not essential as full training will be provided Support may include: – Support to manage on a budget and/or reduce debts – Support to ensure relevant benefits are being accessed – Support to access suitable accommodation – Support to learn independent living skills to enable you to managing your home, such as healthy eating, cooking, cleaning, garden maintenance – Support to improve neighbourhood relations and reduce conflict Support to feel part of your community, and to identify and access social, leisure and recreational activities: – Support to identify and access learning or educational opportunities – Support to identify and secure employment or volunteering opportunities Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: – Engaging with referral agencies, such as local authority, access point/gateway services, statutory and voluntary sector agencies in order to generate referrals for the service as required. – Carry out initial assessments for service users including any risks of their requirements to determine eligibility. – Designing and delivering effective support plans, based on the service user’s needs and abilities. – Maintain contact with service users as required depending on their needs maintaining a professional relationship and becoming a role model. A DBS check will be required for this role.
