Reporting directly to the Finance Director, we are seeking a new Finance Manager, to join the team, focusing on central finance. This role is known internally as Finance Manager. The successful applicant will have one direct report and work on a hybrid/remote basis, with an occasional presence required in the Birmingham Office.

This is initially a 6 month fixed term contract with an immediate start required, however there is the opportunity for a permanent role for the right candidate.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Delivery of a range of month-end close activities (including preparing month-end journals and posting them to the ERP system) and reporting on time on the Group reporting system (OneStream) to a high standard of accuracy

  • Preparation of monthly financial reports and hold meetings with budget holders to review actual spend and prepare forecasts

  • Preparation of accurate short and long-term cash flow forecasts

  • Responsible for preparation of VAT reports, reconciliation of VAT control accounts and providing input EY for timely submission of group VAT return

  • Responsible for monitoring Capex additions and maintaining Fixed asset register in SAP

  • Preparation of the annual budget, Strategic Plan (long-range plan) and monthly forecast

  • AP & AR Admin, generating payments on ERP system (SAP), Bank reconciliation, acting as admin for expense system (SAP Concur), auditing expense claims

  • Exercising control on approval of SRM (Purchase Order) carts, ensuring they are in line with budget/forecast

  • Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Prepare bank reconciliation including daily processing of bank statements and processing of cash matching and journal entries in the system, including review with Finance director at month end

  • Concur expense claim validation (first pass review) and Concur system administration for new employees and changes

  • Corporate credit card administration for UK sites

  • Control on SRM for the reporting unit and train users on SAP and SRM system

  • Responsible for annual external audit and internal audit visits, and peer-to-peer Balance Sheet reviews (usually completed twice per year)

  • Ensure a robust financial control environment is maintained and documented in the Ways of Working, reviewing at least annually to confirm it is still fit for purpose

  • Oversee SAP GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) process adherence, ensuring monthly reporting of results and escalation & remedy of instances of non-compliance and annual review & challenge of all business controls

  • Responsible for the annual insurance review and timely completion of returns

What You’ll Bring

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

Essential:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ICAEW, ACCA)

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Financial Reporting

  • Understanding of financial controls and processes

  • Experience of Financial forecasting and planning

  • Managing teams

  • Experience working within a fast paced UK plc. environment

  • Good working knowledge of an ERP system (SAP preferable)

    Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced, multisite PLC manufacturing environment

  • Previous working experience in SAP

  • Export control understanding and regulatory requirements

  • Experience of working to strict deadlines in a demanding environment
