As part of Finance Operations, the NCA team delivers a high-quality professional accounting and reporting service to our clients.

We provide a variety of tasks for the Research Councils and various Government bodies. This includes completing monthly reconciliations, closing periods in Oracle and running monthly reports. We also process requests throughout the month to make amendments to Asset records (for example depreciation, cost adjustments, new asset records, impairments) for our clients.

To do this role well you will need: 

  • Educated to GCSE level, including Mathematics and English at grade C/5 or above, or comparable proven experience. 
  • Understanding of and experience working with double-sided accounting.
  • Strong Excel skills with experience of working with complex formulas.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with proven ability to work with financial information and present financial data.
  • Proactive and flexible, with strong organisational and prioritisation skills; able to plan work, set realistic deadlines and escalate concerns where required.
  • Good team player but with the ability to work independently.

Things you need to know

To be considered, you will need to successfully obtain BPSS before commencing the role, obtaining clearance usually takes 5-10 working days. 

UKSBS does not hold a Home Office Sponsor Licence under the UK Immigration System, therefore applicants must have eligibility to live and work in the UK at application stage.

Working pattern

We work a mixture of full and part time hours across a 37hr week with varying working patterns.

In return for your skills and experience, we offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Eligibility and the degree of home working will vary depending on the requirements of the role, further details will be discussed if an offer is made.
