Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic insights to support business decision-making. The Finance Analyst will collaborate closely with various departments to develop and implement financial plans, analyse financial performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, including profitability analysis, variance analysis, and financial modeling.

  • Analyse financial performance and provide insights on trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to forecast business performance.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable budgets.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts, ensuring they reflect current business conditions and strategic plans.

  • Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, providing explanations for variances and recommending corrective actions.

    Reporting:

  • Prepare and present regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other key financial metrics.

  • Provide ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by senior management.

  • Ensure financial reports are accurate, timely, and comply with regulatory requirements.

    Strategic Planning:

  • Support long-term strategic planning by providing financial projections and scenario analysis.

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies that align with business objectives.

  • Evaluate potential business opportunities, investments, and cost-saving initiatives, providing financial analysis and recommendations.

    Business Partnering:

  • Act as a financial advisor to department heads, providing insights and guidance on financial matters.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support strategic projects and initiatives.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

    Cost Management:

  • Analyse and monitor costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

  • Develop and implement cost control measures and track their effectiveness.

  • Provide regular updates on cost performance and recommend actions to manage expenses.

    Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.

  • Leverage technology and best practices to streamline financial reporting and analysis.

  • Lead or participate in finance-related projects aimed at improving overall financial management.

    Mentoring and Development:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance team members.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

  • Contribute to the professional development of the finance team by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Qualified accountant

  • 5 years plus experience

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Expertise in cost analysis and control

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
