The Field Engineer we are searching for is an independent and competent troubleshooter who shall perform works in his working area on the mobile telecommunications equipment at radio sites.As young talent, this position offers a great introduction to the wider technological world of telecommunication networks. You will enjoy an extensive training track and you will be supported by experienced colleagues. You will be proficient to become an independent
field engineer in time. On longer time, further career opportunities are possible within Field Operations Teams or towards field support teams or you can become a field auditor.
You will work on modern high-tech telecommunication equipment covering GSM radio, 5G technologies, Microwave, IP, fiber installations and site environment equipment such as HVAC, Power supplies AC/DC, etc.Activities:
– restoring the services during urgent interventions, performing trouble shooting on the existing installation, replacing defective hardware,
performing configuration changes with the aim to restore the services on 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G radio sites
– performing preventive tasks on those radio sites based on a predefined workflow
– making changes to the existing installation for planned network changes on the radio sitesYou will work in your region adjoining to your home base and sporadically you will work outside that region.The work includes working at height in the radio towers. You will therefore be trained and certified to work at heights and you will be coached by experienced colleagues.After the initial training, you will work independently during normal working hours or in the “On Call” team that will be activated after the normal working time.Profil – You shall possess a Secondary Technical Degree in Electricity, Electro-mechanics, Auto electro technics, Electronics, Telecom, IT Informatics or Industrial Science, or a 7th year specialization or Bachelor diploma in these domains
– A good theoretical and preferably some practical experience in electrical installations AC/DC (replacing circuit-breakers, batteries, cabling, patching, …, )
– You shall be skilled to work with a PC and MS Windows. Having a good understanding of IP networks is an asset.
– When you have some theoretical knowledge in telecommunication, fiber optics, radio cabling or electronics then this is an advantage for the job.
– You shall have a proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to new process procedures and technology
– You shall have the ability to work independently and to work in teams
– Ability to speak and write fluently in English (B2)
