The Acute Care Technology division of ZOLL Medical Corporation is focused on “beating heart” therapies for hospitals. Post-cardiac arrest, STEMI heart attack, and severe fever are some of the applications of ZOLL’s unique devices. Fully integrated, ZOLL Circulation researches, develops, manufactures, and sells novel technologies includes ZOLL Temperature Management Solutions. Temperature Management Solutions empower physicians to “prescribe” a temperature and achieve it.

General Summary:

Responsible for performing all functions that are required to provide technical support, service and repair for ZOLL Temperature Management products (Thermogard XP®), BrainCool™ and TherOx® systems with the main focus on Austria and South Germany.

Essential Functions:

  • Respond to requests from customers, Sales Distributors and/or end-users for technical support. This will include telephone and email support and hands-on troubleshooting and repair activities.

  • Schedule and perform Planned Preventive Maintenance, Electrical Safety Tests, troubleshooting, repair and testing of ZOLL Temperature Management, BrainCool™ and TherOx® ® systems at the customer site or at the ZOLL offices as required.

  • Perform TherOx® system console upgrades and other service modifications including hardware and software updates to the installed base.

  • Work in accordance with all released procedures, test methods and forms for the full range of ZOLL Temperature Management, BrainCool™ and TherOx® system service activities.

  • Complete all required service documentation and update device service history files for European Temperature Management, BrainCool™ and TherOx® systems.

  • Provide technical training of ZOLL Temperature Management systems to ZOLL sales distributors, clinical support staff and hospital biomedical engineers as required.

  • Maintain TherOx®, BrainCool™ and Temperature Management service event documentation in compliance with ZOLL and local medical device reporting requirements.

  • Comply with complaint handling procedures for Temperature Management BrainCool™ and TherOx® product lines including device and accessory investigations, writing investigation reports, CCR system entries and maintaining cooperation with the San Jose QA/RA team.

  • Provide input to the ZOLL San Jose manufacturing engineering, supply chain and R&D teams to improve performance and reliability of ZOLL temperature management, BrainCool™ and TherOx® products.

  • Support sales distributors and clinical associates as requested with system setup and operation training of ZOLL Temperature Management, BrainCool™ and TherOx® systems.

Education/Training/Experience Requirements:

  • Up to 4 years of electrical engineering and/or biomedical engineering education at the university level.

  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the troubleshooting and repair of medical equipment in the hospital or corporate environment.

  • A thorough understanding of ISO 13485 medical device quality system standards and requirements.

  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently and on time without the need for close daily supervision.

  • willing to travel up to 80% within Austria and Southern Germany and cover other EMEA locations when necessary

  • Strong written and verbal skills in German and English is essential.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license – company car is provided
