Field Applications Scientist, Spatial Biology Division in Wiesbaden, Germany

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Field Applications Scientist based in the UK to provide outstanding sales support and customer service in our Spatial Biology Division. The ideal candidate is an experienced bench-level scientist or field application scientist with a strong background in histology and tissue analysis, including preparation of tissues and reagents for immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridisation and imaging. The candidate will be a key member responsible for providing pre- and post-sales applications support and technical support predominantly responsible for customers using automated solutions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide scientific, technical and applications support via product trainings and system troubleshooting by phone, e-mail and on-site visits during pre- and post-sales activities

• Schedule and manage demos, assay implementation and trainings as required

• Develop and present complex content to potential customers in an easy-to-understand manner while being able to professionally handle objections

• Support the sales team by using critical thinking to identify customer needs and to demonstrate the correct product solutions to meet those needs

• Help customers in justifying equipment purchase by offering assistance in assay development, data generation, preparing reports, and presenting results

• Maintain knowledge of competitive products and technologies

• Attend conferences and customer meetings and present the product and applications

• Understand all the technical aspects of the product from the device perspective as well as on the application side

• Promote customer satisfaction by providing product and application information, answering inquiries, investigating complaints and taking appropriate action

• Collaborate effectively with sales, marketing, US HQ support team and R&D groups in order to address customer needs and provide high-quality support

• Identify and keep track of all details and feedback at the customer site

• Give feedback on the customer’s experience effectively to the SBD team being the “voice of the customer”

• Help define customer requirements and applications for new products

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• You have a biology background: Master’s or PhD degree in Biology, Life sciences, Bioengineering, or other similar background allowing you to understand the product’s applications easily

• Fluent in English, additional European language is a plus

• A minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience with experimental design, cell and spatial biology techniques

• Experience providing applications/technical support in in-situ techniques, including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, in-situ hybridization, and similar techniques and technologies is a strong plus

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 65%
