An internship or a Thesis in a Technical Sales Team focusing on Industrial or Automotive Applications may be the role for you. With this Internship or Thesis, you will combine your technical skills with selling and marketing skills to help our customers solve their most challenging problems, and to develop and deliver innovative solutions. Demonstrate your technical competency on product selection, systems, implementation and debug, as you prepare for a career as a Field Applications Engineer. The topic of the Internship or Thesis can be adjusted together with your Mentor who will coach you during your time at TI.
Field Applications Engineer (FAE) Intern responsibilities include:
- Gain hands-on experience learning the Field Applications Engineer role and how we conduct business with our customers,
- Learn how our Field Applications force engages with TI’s Business Units and System Teams,
- Work on hands-on challenging projects, solve customers’ technical challenges and have opportunities to present your findings to leaders, including customer case studies, running a project kick off and making a final intern presentation.
Thesis (optional):
Multiple thesis topics to choose, in alignment with the candidate interest and background. Focus of the thesis will be on technical system level developments with the adoption of TI products, targeting industrial or automotive applications such as EV charging, building and factory automation, electric vehicles and more. Throughout all the internship, in addition to the thesis project, the candidate will gain experience in the sales & application field, working at close contact with our customers.
The project thesis duties may include for instance:
- System reference design
- Schematics design
- Simulations (Pspice, TINA-TI and more)
- Software development for embedded systems
- Layout design
- System design and debug
- Possibility of writing an application note to be published on Texas Instruments website (ti.com).

Minimum Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related fields
- Fluent in Italian and English, both written and oral communication skills
- Basic understanding of schematics, layouts and digital components
- Knowledge and understanding of analog circuitry (examples include: op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensing, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basics of Microcontroller Programming
- French and/or Spanish language skills is a plus
- Programming skills in Python is a plus
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with competitive mindset and a result-focus
- Excellent communication & presentation skills alongside with ability to work in cross functional teams and building strong relationships internally as well as externally
- Time management skills / ability to prioritize among tasks and ability to constantly adapt to a changing environment
- Be passionate about solving technical challenges and enjoy to have technical conversations with external and internal counterparts
