We are hiring on behalf of a fast-growing semiconductor technology company operating at the sharp end of high-speed optical communications. This is a business building real-world, multi-gigabit connectivity solutions for demanding environments, including automotive and industrial applications.

The company designs cost-effective optical networking technology delivered as ASSPs or IP, enabling customers to integrate high-performance optical links directly into their SoCs. With a strong R&D culture, an expanding product roadmap, and manufacturing capability in Spain, this is a genuine scale-up team to join.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add a Field Application Engineer to their Madrid-based team.

The Role
This is a customer-facing technical role sitting at the intersection of engineering, sales, and product. You will act as a trusted technical partner to global customers, with a particular focus on Chinese-speaking accounts.

Pre-sales responsibilities

-Provide deep technical support for optical networking products used in automotive and industrial systems
-Support customers through design-in, from architecture discussions to system-level integration
-Understand and challenge customer schematics and design approaches
-Deliver technical presentations, demos, and training sessions, both remotely and on-site
-Represent the company at trade shows, customer workshops, and technical events
-Track customer timelines, requirements, and risks in close collaboration with sales and marketing
Post-sales responsibilities

-Act as the escalation point for technical issues during development and deployment
-Provide structured remote troubleshooting via phone and email
-Log, track, and communicate issues internally with engineering and sales teams
-Ensure customer feedback makes its way back into product and roadmap discussions What They Are Looking For
Background

-Engineering degree or equivalent high-level technical experience
-Minimum 3 years’ experience in electronics, semiconductor, automotive, or industrial environments
Languages, this part is essential

-Mandarin Chinese at C1 or C2 level
-English at C1 or C2 level
Spanish is a strong plus, but not mandatory if English and Mandarin are fluent.
