Do you have a strong commitment to helping young individuals achieve their educational and personal goals?A ‘GOOD’ secondary school in South Bristol is seeking a Female Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a vulnerable Year 7 pupil who will be transitioning to the school in September 2024. The pupil has refugee status and requires support with personal care, accessing learning, and social and emotional regulation.Job Description:

  • Provide personal care, including changing nappies.
  • Play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for the student.
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Promoting positive behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to support student learning.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress.

While no specific qualifications may be required for this role, having a background in education, psychology, or related fields can be advantageous. A genuine passion for helping students with SEND achieve their full potential is a very important quality we look for, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt the unique needs of the student. Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
