About usThe Faculty of Social & Historical Sciences (SHS) represents areas of knowledge where humanities and social science meet. The interests and methods of the eight component departments (Anthropology, Archaeology, Economics, Geography, History, History of Art, Institute of the Americas, Political Science), together with the interdisciplinary Institute of Advanced Studies, offer excellent opportunities for innovative and collaborative research. Each of the departments carries out world leading research in its own field. There are more than 6000 students and over 1000 members of staff in the faculty, of whom three quarters are academic, teaching and research staff, and one quarter professional services.The faculty has recently been deploying a new strategic vision for the coming decade, and has ambitious plans to develop its research, teaching and innovation activities. It is committed to enhancing its research and teaching in relation to major global challenges, including climate change and sustainability, technological change and the data revolution, and inequality.About the roleThe Marketing and Communications team is responsible for all external and internal communications for the Faculty SHS, which may also be derived from the Vice Provost (External Engagement).The Student Recruitment Marketing Officer is a professional student recruitment expert who leads, develops and executes the Faculty Marketing and Communications domestic and international student recruitment plan, across all levels of entry to the university in the faculty. They also work closely with counterparts in other Faculties to ensure a
complementary Student Recruitment landscape is created across programme portfolios, enabling prospective students to apply for the course/s that is / are right for them. They place the prospect at the heart of their plans throughout the recruitment funnel and can enable the successful mapping of Faculty study options to student choice.The Student Recruitment Marketing Officer plays a pivotal role in managing the prospective to enrolled student journey, working with Faculty staff as well as Marketing and Communications subject matter experts, to ensure recruitment activity is creative and aspirational, representative of our world-class university, and well placed both strategically and tactically across a range of defined channels, in line with the Faculty Marketing and Communications strategy.For Enquiries about the role please contact Jessica Thomas [email protected]About youTo do this job, you will need to have experience in multi-faceted Student Recruitment, in a complex, stakeholder environment and substantial experience of working with cross channel media including above and below the line, offline and digital customer acquisition marketing. You will also need to have a good understanding of the higher education landscape, policies, practices, and procedures. You will hold strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and a flexibility to work effectively with senior stakeholders and team members whilst still achieving the result.
