Rockwool
Job title:
Facility Manager
Company:
Rockwool
Job description
Are you interested in completing a master plan involving all our buildings and all our outdoor areas? And do you know how to run an efficient and high performing facility department, servicing 600 employees, 24 buildings and 50 Ha land? Then join us for an exciting mix of project-related and operational tasks as the manager of 9 dedicated colleagues. This is who we are
The Facility Management organisation consists of 4 technicians – 2 of whom have project management expertise – 4 receptionists and 1 travel manager. You will also be working closely with 4 external craftsmen who are on site virtually every day, assisting with solving daily tasks.“The team is very dedicated and get along very well; there are lots of laughs and smiles. They will tell you what they think and execute what is agreed; it is very much “what you see is what you get”,” says Business Development Director Peter Løgtved. This is the role
We are currently running 6 different projects, from demolishing an old factory, renovating offices, building a new reception, implementing a full-scale gym in an old building, and adding two new technical facilities for our development department. On top of that we have a list of a further 5-6 other projects to be scoped, funded and implemented. Two of those are a comprehensive look at our outdoor areas and completing the installation of electrical chargers on all of our parking lots. These highlight our commitment to a greener future, a key concept for the entire ROCKWOOL group; that is what our product also do. And yes, we do use a lot of our own products in our buildings. Most of the projects are run by the team where you will act as support, facilitating contact to different departments. You will also be expected to take direct charge of one or two projects/tasks yourself, including contact to external parties like architects, contractors and public authorities, as you will help us drive the projects forward through their various stages. The other half of your position will be to manage your team and the daily operations of our facility services. An important task in this is moving from reactive to preventive maintenance; the digital groundwork has been made, but the implementation needs to happen. This also includes setting up a contracts archive, ensuring they are tendered regularly and renewed as needed. Finally, you will also be collaborating with the working environment committee, receiving relevant input and managing expectations.Communication is a key task in Facility Management, both towards management and employees. Two important tools are the quarterly newsletter published on the intranet and the feedback on cases created in the helpdesk system. And finally, you will also manage a budget of 5 MEUR plus the various project budgets. This is what you offer
You find it just as easy to talk to the managing director as a colleague who wants your team to have a light bulb changed. Being involved in several projects at a time, and being met with a big number of requests, does not overwhelm you – in fact, you probably like creating and following structured plans. And like us, you do not care much for extravagance, but are more interested in finding functional solutions at reasonable costs.Furthermore, we imagine that you:
- Are a building designer, an engineer or maybe have a third background with solid experience. What matters is that you have technical flair and understanding.
- Know how to manage people. The team is very self-motivated, but everyone needs to be managed, supported, guided and occasionally corrected.
- Ideally you also have hands-on experience from Facility Management and know how to manage stakeholders.
- Can communicate easily in English, both verbally and in writing.
This is what we offer
Here, you will get a unique opportunity to be involved in several large-scale facility management projects that take us even further down the path to a greener future – something that makes even our external stakeholders excited. You can also look forward to enjoying a workplace where people stay for many years because we take professional development seriously and are passionate about what we do. We believe that this is what makes us Greater Together.Interested?
