As the Facilities Manager, you will oversee Wiley’s UK real estate and facilities operations, ensuring seamless day-to-day functioning while aligning with broader business strategies. This critical role includes managing occupancy, facilities, assets, compliance, health and safety, and financial performance. You will also lead collaborations with key stakeholders to foster a safe, productive, and cost-effective work environment.

How you will make an impact:

  • Occupancy Planning: Manage seat inventory and workspace needs, develop space standards and policies to inform strategic decision-making and ensure a productive work environment.
  • Facilities Management: Coordinate delivery of FM services, develop project plans, negotiate service contracts, and ensure compliance with regulations to provide a safe, cost-effective work environment.
  • Asset Management: Develop and implement planned maintenance programs, manage equipment inventories, and ensure systems and equipment perform as expected to prevent failures and losses.
  • Health and Safety: Implement health and safety systems to reduce incidents, ensure risk assessments are up to date, and protect colleagues and company assets.
  • Finance Management: Develop and maintain Opex and Capex budgets, utilise budgets prudently, and understand the financial implications of business decisions.

We are looking for people who have: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma,
  • Experience managing corporate real estate and facilities services in the UK
  • Relevant health and safety qualification, and membership of IWFM.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, enabling you to work effectively with contractors, stakeholders, and team members.
  • A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to lead projects and make informed decisions in fast-paced environments.
  • Expertise in vendor management, including negotiating service contracts and ensuring SLAs are met.
  • A collaborative, detail-oriented approach, with a commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and productive workplace.

The range below represents Wiley’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the UK, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
