Your Career

The External Communications Manager – EMEAL is responsible for managing and executing external communications programmes that position the company as a cybersecurity leader across the region.

You will collaborate with the global communications team, EMEA communications leads, and agency partners to help plan, develop, and localise communications campaigns and stories for the EMEA & LATAM region. These will include global thought-leadership initiatives, research projects, and product/service launches.

Your experience working closely with the media means that you can spot a great story, and develop local campaigns and angles that are creative and engaging to each market, while ensuring our message is consistent with our global vision, mission, and values.

You will be a critical member of a small team where no two days are alike. You are calm under pressure, pride yourself on attention to detail, able to manage multiple projects and deliver them on time, and you are focused on outcome and results. You are comfortable collaborating with a broad range of internal and external parties, from marketing, product, and sales teams, through to journalists, partners, and customers.

You have a passion for cybersecurity, pride yourself on being an expert storyteller and writer, and are as comfortable working individually as you are as part of a large team.

Your Impact

  • Work in partnership with global communications, regional communications leads, and agencies to develop narratives and campaigns that help build the company’s brand and reputation, raise awareness, and increase share of voice across the region

  • Work with communications leads and agency partners to drive coverage in business and trade media of Palo Alto Networks’ thought-leadership initiatives, research, product launches, local customer/partner initiatives, and events

  • Support the development of messaging documents, Q&As, articles, executive briefing documents to support media and communications activities

  • Assist with the development of compelling content for use across digital channels, including social media posts, video, and imagery

  • Act as the day to day contact for a network of PR agencies

  • Create op-eds, blog posts and other content to support Palo Alto Networks priorities

  • Assist with the training and development of a pool of EMEAL spokespeople, including senior executives

  • Support regional analyst outreach and opportunities

  • Proactively engage, develop and cultivate relationships with tier one media

  • Foster strong relationships across different business functions, including marketing and sales teams, to ensure an integrated approach

  • Ability to understand technology and communicate clearly and concisely how the features and functions translate into tangible customer benefits

  • The role will require periodic travel to other international locations

​​​​​​ Your Experience

  • 6+ years experience in communications with a focus on tech and/or cybersecurity

  • Experience of working in EMEA roles is essential, with global experience a plus

  • Strong understanding of the regional media environment, with a proven track record of originating and shaping narratives and content that drives coverage

  • A strategic thinker, who enjoys goal-setting, problem-solving, and driving momentum

  • Highly organised and self-motivated, overseeing timely, first-rate execution.

  • Experience working in a complex global organisation

  • A team player and creative thinker, with experience working with international teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with outstanding attention to detail

  • Experience of managing analyst programmes in EMEA

  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior executives

  • Ability to work under pressure and unphased by last-minute deadlines

  • Have a good understanding of local cultures across the EMEA region
