Workplace: BrusselsIntroduction / Context:As a full-time employee, you will be part of the application support team at the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (SANTE). You will be responsible for the support of the European database on medical devices (EUDAMED), an online platform that provides a living picture of the lifecycle of medical devices that are made available in the European Union (EU). It will integrate different electronic systems to collate and process information about medical devices and related companies (e.g. manufacturers). In doing so, EUDAMED aims to enhance overall transparency, including through better access to information for the public and healthcare professionals, and to enhance coordination between the different Member States in the EU.Description of Tasks:

  • Diagnose M2M and data exchange issues reported by users.
  • Analyse XML, XSD, XSLT, JSon files, identify errors, research potential root causes, perform tests and report.
  • Test and try to reproduce existing bugs and errors.
  • Provide technical replies to users’ engineering teams.
  • Follow-up system development and features available in M2M transmissions vs UI.
  • Serve as a liaison between our customers and the development team.
  • Keep internal knowledge up to date by documenting all relevant information.
  • Ensure and perform all communication with the end-users according to the services procedures and in accordance with the agreed KPIs.
  • Provide services to all stakeholders according to ITIL best practices, handling and documenting all requests and feedback.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of data exchange, such as machine to machine (M2M) transmissions, system to system communication, exchange of data without human interaction so that the information is available on another device, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of the XML Schema Definition (XSD) and XML mark-up language.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare, business or insurance sectors in projects implementing M2M communication and large data exchange.
  • Previous experience in end-user assistance of information systems.
  • Good understanding of networking and databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal in English).
  • Experience working with ticketing systems and Atlassian JIRA is a plus.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, HTML or CSS is a plus.

Other requirements:

  • EU Citizenship.
  • Resident or available to relocate to Belgium.
