Become part of our two-headed Executive Board! As member of the Executive Board (m/f/d) for Finance & Operations, you will be responsible for Finance, IT and Facility Management as well as Human Resources and will be part of the organisation’s management team. You will play a key role in the financial strategy and be responsible for preparing the annual financial statements. You will report directly to the Supervisory Board and represent forumZFD on relevant committees.
The place of work is the head office of forumZFD in Cologne-Ehrenfeld.

Your new role
- You are responsible for the areas of Finance, IT and Facility Management as well as Human Resources and directly manage the three team heads
- You are responsible for preparing the budget plan and annual financial statements
- You continuously develop financial strategy and financial monitoring
- You are responsible for the conceptual development of the Executive Board area in line with the organisation’s strategy
- You are jointly responsible in the Executive Board team for the strategic development of the organisation
- You take on management tasks in accordance with the Schedule of responsibilities; for example, you are primarily responsible for the implementation and further development of the security concept for employees in Germany and abroad, take over the management of Forum Ziviler Friedensdienst GmbH and support the committees of the forumZFD Foundation
- You are responsible for external representation, in particular vis-à-vis donors, tax consultants, auditors and banks
What we are looking for
- Relevant (technical) university degree in the field of business administration
- Extensive work experience and knowledge as well as strong technical and conceptual skills in Finance, IT and HR management
- Several years of reflected management experience in an international context, corresponding further training and experience of reflection
- Expertise and willingness in shaping various change processes
- Comprehensive knowledge of the financial management of civil society projects
- Experience in applying for, managing and acquiring funding from public donors such as the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union
- Identification with the goals of forumZFD as an internationally active non-profit peace organisation. You are a reflective personality who is aware of the implications of work in the context of conflict transformation and brings a corresponding attitude to the day-to-day work.
- You enjoy and are able to work in a team and have strong communication skills
- Several years of experience abroad or in a migration context
- Business fluent in German and English
- Willingness to travel, including to tropical countries and crisis regions
- Willingness to work predominantly in Cologne
- Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends, especially in connection with board meetings or in crisis situations
