Equipment Maintenance Supervisor (Farnborough, UK) in  GAC Farnborough

Unique Skills:

Experience with aircarft ground support equipment maintenance is preferred.  Knowledge of aircart operations areas and aircarft maintenance operations is beneficial.  The ability ot manage service providers and service contracts is a must.

 

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. experience of ground support and/or tooling/equipment maintenance. Supervisory or Lead experience preferred..

Position Purpose:

Supervises and coordinates all activities and personnel of facilities ground support equipment and/or tooling/equipment operations to ensure timely and cost-efficient fulfillment of business objectives and quality standards. Supervises all maintenance activities related to aircraft production equipment to ensure quality, schedule compliance, and cost while achieving customer satisfaction and FAA requirements.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
– In conjunction with department management, determines and establishes goals and objectives for the departmental staff.

– Maintains an efficient and productive organization utilizing leadership skills; reviews and evaluates the performance of departmental personnel; provides guidance and training as required. and recognition when warranted.

– Establishes schedules and standards of performance for departmental assignments; maintains follow-up to ensure that schedules and standards are achieved.

– Report key performance metrics to management for maintenance on all equipment as required.

– Supervise reliability of maintenance for all machines.

– Evaluates improvements, suggestions, proposals, and project requirements and determines their feasibility and economic worth.

– Implement established predictive maintenance program for all machines assigned to this responsibility.

– Maintains integrative activities with other departments on all pertinent matters including quality variances, problems, and schedule deviations.

– Administers corporate/department policies and procedures to ensure achievement of overall quality and performance goals.

– Coordinates and schedules all training for ground support equipment and/or tooling/equipment personnel to ensure appropriate development.

– Reviews all departmental labor time on a weekly basis.

– Prepares scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimate & budget, project schedule & milestones, quality control and risk identification.

– Tracks progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, approved timelines. Report status and variances.

– Assist in preparation and execution of contracts and supervises vendor/contractor services as required.

– Ensure all standard operating and safety procedures are followed when operating equipment and performing maintenance.

– Ensure that stringent housekeeping, 5S standards, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements, and safety procedures and practices are followed.

– Ensure that the required. Safety Management System action items are followed through to completion.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
– Knowledge of maintenance operations of advanced equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.

– PC literacy and recordkeeping skills required.

– Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex processes, procedures and policies.
