The Technical Services contribute by providing researchers with the necessary resources in the fields of Mechanics, Electricity, Automation and Electronics, New Works, Information Technology, Pilot Equipment Operation and General Services, thus ensuring the smooth running of the site.Your roleAs a Project Manager, you will :
- Ensure that project management methodologies are applied throughout all phases of the project.
- Carry out studies, draw up the schedule and budget, select potential suppliers during the pre-study phase (feasibility, functional and technical design) and take part in drafting the investment file.
- Manage the implementation of investment projects (design, assembly and testing phases through to final acceptance of the equipment).
- Express resource requirements and assign roles and tasks to the project team in the light of the resources made available.
- Carry out and coordinate benchmarks (investment file and/or during the project implementation phase), compare and evaluate technical solutions and seek to make improvements.
- Define the purchasing strategy (technical alignment and validation of supplier choices with purchasing).
- Monitor the preparation and validation of technical documents (technical specifications, drawings, calculation notes, etc.),
- Ensure the quality and compliance of the work carried out and of the documentation (safety approach and compliance of equipment: CE compliance, legal and regulatory compliance, etc.).
- Manage and ensure safety on site and compliance with environmental regulations (preventative plans, audit, authorisations, etc.), be responsible for finalising the project (end-of-project assessment, archiving, removal of reservations, participation in reliability actions, spare parts if necessary, maintenance plan, etc.).
- Report on the progress of projects and provide functional coordination for the Design Managers and Business Experts.
Your profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field and you have strong general technical skills.
- Ideally, you have some initial experience in this field.
- In addition to your technical skills, you enjoy working in the field, are open-minded and have good interpersonal skills.
- You have cross-functional management skills, with leadership and the ability to mobilise people.
- You are organised, rigorous, constructive and able to analyse and summarise.
- You have advanced levels of English and French and you are able to work in an international professional environment.

About the Team: Within this context, you will be working for Maizières Shared Services research centre located in Maizières-lès-Metz (France) which missions are : ensure the general management of the Maizières campus related to transversal functions and provide technical resources and support to the research centres. There are many key facilities as simulation and pilot tools: sintering pilot, 6t steelmaking pilot, in-line rolling casting pilot, hot rolling and cold rolling pilots, high speed strip guiding pilot, … ; tensile test lab ; machining shop ; engineering offices.
